Frequently Asked Questions
DJM4...what does it mean? Moksha (the 'M' in DJM4) means liberation in sanskrit. Why should we hire you? Spinning music is my passion. I love to see people enjoying themselves out on the dance floor. You can find me every evening spinning music in my home studio for my wife and cat. Can we schedule a meeting? Yes. It is beneficial to arrange an appointment to discuss your wedding details and my services. Being comfortable with each other is key! What do you charge? My performance fee starts at $600 for up to four hours of reception service. Contact me for more information regarding your event and to customize a package to suit your needs. Do you have any other obligations the day of? I will not do two receptions in one day. I want to give one couple my undivided attention for the length of their ceremony and reception and be available for them should they wish to go beyond the original time. Do you have the equipment you need, including microphones, speakers and amplifiers? Yes! I have 2 Samson 15” powered speakers. I find that these two speakers are sufficient. They have tremendous base and have a wonderful sound. I also have a two channel analog mixer, two wireless microphones, two laptops equipped with DJ virtual turntable software programs, and an extensive music library. I have a back-up PA speaker system that is perfect for ceremonies at low volume. Will you do a sound check before guests arrive? I live in a Sound Check. (YES) What duties will you perform at the reception? I will make all announcements relevant to the timeline that you supply prior to the event. I will play all appropriate music as discussed in the musical play list that you also provide beforehand. We are having our event at a remote location, would you be able to provide electricity? Yes! For an additional fee I provide power with a ultra-quiet generator for my equipment. Can you provide dance floor lighting? Yes. Can you help plan the reception? Yes, to an extent. I can help with ideas beforehand, which is included when you hire me to DJ. How will you know what songs I want played and when? I have a music request form that must be filled out two weeks prior to the wedding day. Do you do any mixing? Yes! I live for mixing. Songs with similar beats per minute (BPM) are blended together to keep dancers on the floor and sustain the energy of the party. Although beat mixing is less important to the wedding DJ, it is a skill I possess that will enhance the energy of your reception. Can you provide ceremony music? Yes! For an additional fee, a separate sound system is used since the ceremony location is a distance from the reception. A wireless microphone is usually provided for the ceremony officiant. Can we come to a wedding to see you in action? No. A wedding reception is a private event intended exclusively for you, your family and your friends. The last thing you would want or need at your wedding is a group of strangers. The door swings both ways. |
